Lietuva Street View
Lithuania is the birthplace of my parents who as children fled ahead of the Russian invasion of their country towards the end of the second world war.
In this project I’ve located early to mid twentieth century photos of streets, buildings and places in Lithuania that I’ve found on Facebook.
These historic images have been teamed with the most recent Google Street View image.
Where I have any information about the original image and it was written in Lithuanian I’ve used Google Translate to give an English language version and shown these in brackets […]. Translations can be a bit clunky at times.
