Peter Berzanskis
Peter uses photography and digital manipulation to explore modern urban landscapes, blurring the lines between realism and surrealism. His work delves into the juxtaposition of utopian lightness and dystopian darkness, presenting familiar spaces with an unsettling twist. Birch trees
abstractions & constructions
July 2024
This series of images captures the natural beauty of birch trees through minimalist and striking compositions.
The initial set are inspired by the Lithuanian word Beržai for Birch Tree, and the iconic opening credits of Dr. Zhivago with renowned Chilean artist José Basso and his ethereal and serene landscapes also an influence. Other images are in stark black and white simple, clean compositions that focus on the natural elegance and unique patterns of the trees.
Flinders Escape
May 2024
450 kilometers supported cycling tour around the Ikara Flinders Ranges, South Australia.
While I don’t consider myslef to be a landscape photographer, I knew that while I was on the tour I’d want to be capturing the scenery.
This is a selection of what I saw.

Thresholds
Test Sites 2023
Since 2016, the City of Melbourne’s Test Sites Program has supported artists to explore and experiment with temporary creative ideas in the public realm.
Thresholds seeks to arrest and perplex pedestrians semiconsciously transiting through liminal spaces, taking them out of their train of thought to stop, do a double take, and imaginatively engage with the space for a moment.
monumentas
monumentas captures patterns, colours and the designs of modern buildings and spaces in a bold and striking way that stands out from traditional photography.
By abstracting the perspective of these structures, it allows viewers to perceive the world around them with fresh eyes.
